Lotto Winners Can Have Dream Wedding

Media Release                                                               03 August 2010

Lotto Winners Can Have Dream Wedding

A lucky Auckland couple are now able to have the wedding of their dreams, after a Lotto First Division win of $500,000.

The couple were in Taupo for the weekend to participate in a marathon and do some skiing when they purchased their winning ticket from Lakeside Lotto and Deli Ltd.

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, said the couple nearly did not buy a ticket, as the first shop they visited did not sell Lotto.

“But I had a good feeling, so when we were driving back to the motel I saw Lakeside Lotto and told my fiancée to pull over so I could jump out and get our ticket!” exclaims the happy bride to be.

After finding out they had indeed bought a prize-winning ticket, the happy couple celebrated their win with a home cooked Thai dinner and a glass of wine.

“I woke up the next day and turned to my fiancée and asked him if I had dreamed it?” said the woman, “he said, not unless we both had the same dream.”

The happy couple have recently purchased their first home and were planning on getting married next year, but finances were going to be tight.

“This win has come at the perfect time, as we have a lot of family overseas who we can help with coming to our wedding now” she said excitably.

“Winning Lotto is a positive sign for the beginning of a marriage”, added the blissful bride to be.

This Saturday’s Lotto draw has a massive combined prize pool of $8.6 million up for grabs, with $7.5 million Powerball on offer, $1 million with Lotto First Division and $100,000 with Strike.
