YWCA 125th Gala Dinner Line-Up
Topp Twins, Ann Veneman, Helen Clark And Carol Hirshfeld Join The YWCA 125th Gala Dinner Line-Up
As the YWCA Auckland celebrates its 125th Anniversary during 2010 we are highlighting our achievements for women with this Gala Dinner. This is the seventh of the YWCA dinners; known as a great night out and providing significant financial support for the YWCA's young women's leadership development programmes.
The Gala Dinner will be a formal evening of fine wine, fabulous food and fine conversation in The Great Room of the Langham Hotel.
We are delighted to have New Zealand's national treasures The Topp Twins with us for the evening. One of the few NZ acts which can undoubtedly be called a cultural institution, this highly original country-music comedy duo never fails to delight audiences with their irreverent brand of entertainment.
We are honoured to be joined by the Rt Hon Helen Clark, head of the United Nations Development Programme and Ann M. Veneman, who recently completed a five year term UNICEF's executive director (2005 - 2010). This is the first visit to New Zealand by Ms Veneman who was named by Forbes as one of the top 50 most powerful women in the world in 2009. Prior to joining UNICEF, she served as the first woman US Secretary of Agriculture, overseeing a department with over 100,000 employees and a program budget of $113 billion.
Our two international guest speakers will be on stage together discussing women's leadership development and the global perspective of leadership, they will be guided by the enigmatic Carol Hirschfeld.
Included in the evening are live and silent auctions of high end, extra special products and experiences that you'd find hard to buy anywhere else. Items like golf at The Hills Course in Queenstown with airfares and accommodation, lunch at Te Whau Vineyard Restaurant on Waiheke, attending Fashion Week with Kathryn Wilson, a very special JASMAX architectural tour, a Serena Williams signed tennis ball, plus many more. More details here!
Proceeds from
the auction will go directly towards the YWCA Auckland's
hugely successful leadership programmes for young
women
Our dinner combination of outrageous comedy and stimulating international conversation will ensure the evening is one of the more exceptional in the Auckland calendar during 2010.
Tickets: $250.00 and $2,500 per table of 10 (earlybird $2250 till 21st July) RSVP 4th August.
