Battle it out to become the world’s best fingerdancer with Sony Ericsson
2 July 2010, New Zealand: Today sees the launch of Battle Fingers, from Sony Ericsson, the global competition to find the world’s best dancing digits. Fingerdancers from around the world will fight it out in an online battle to decide who has rhythm and who is a dancing disaster, with the winner starring in Tha Breakadelics new music video and attending the world B-Boy Championships finals in London as a VIP.
The competition to find the world’s best fingerdancer celebrates the fun of using the new Sony Ericsson Xperia™ X10 mini pro, the small and sociable version of the Xperia™ X10. The direct access to the entertaining multi-media applications from each of the four customisable touchscreen corners, make this handset the perfect device for flighty fingers.
Smaller than a credit card, the Xperia™ X10 mini pro offers mobile entertainment in an ultra compact form. The stylish human curvature design, combined with touch navigation optimised for compact screens, offers users the easiest way to connect and communicate with either one or two hands; depending on whether you prefer touchscreen or a full QWERTY keypad.
For three weeks from today, aspiring fingerdancers can visit www.sonyericsson.com/battlefingers to easily upload a one minute video of their best moves, to be in with a chance of winning this coveted prize. Even untrained fingers can take part, with tutorial videos available online to teach eager hands slick new moves and break dance their way to victory.
“Battle Fingers is a fantastic competition as it gets the public up and dancing and having fun!” says Brendan Johnston, Managing Director, Sony Ericsson Oceania. “The Xperia™ X10 mini pro was designed with fingers in mind, from the optimised touch screen to the stunning human curvature design. Fingers can’t help but dance on the phone – and we want to share this feeling with fingers across the world!”
Dancers can shimmy to their own tunes or download the unique Tha Breakadelics track – Da Phunk. Tha Breakadelics are an internationally renowned team of artists and producers (featuring Krisz Kreuzer amongst others) from the Studio BASS in Hamburg. They are the team behind productions such as Brixtonboogie, Pryde, De Phazz, True North and Earl 16.
Once the clip has been uploaded to the Battle Fingers competition site, entrants can share their video with friends and grow their fan base – they will need it as the competition is decided by a dance off!
Breakdancing, jiving, salsaing and boogieing fingers across the world should start limbering up and submit their entry at www.sonyericsson.com/battlefingers for the chance to be crowned Battle Fingers Champion!
Notes to Editors:
On 2 August 2010, the Battle Fingers winner will be decided by public vote. Voters simply pick two videos, watch them side by side and choose their favourite performer. The creators of the three videos with the most public votes will each win a VIP trip to London to see the Sony Ericsson UK BBoy Championships. The winning video will be decided by the Sony Ericsson judging panel and its creator will win the unique opportunity to star in the music video of the fantastic Tha Breakadelics track, Da Phunk.
