Twentyone Live N Free Presents Tiki Taane This Thursday Night

SKYCITY’s hottest bar, twentyone, is presenting Tiki Taane with DJ Sambora THIS Thursday night (24 June). Entry to the gig is free with entertainment starting at 7pm.

Tiki embarked on his solo artist career in January 2007 and has gone from strength to strength. Now one of New Zealand’s most popular and diverse award-winning artists, Tiki is renowned as much for his powerful live performances as he is for his anthems.

In November 2007, he released his debut LP ‘Past Present Future’, which achieved double platinum sales and saw his beautiful acoustic love ballad ‘Always on my mind’ rise to number one.

This tune broke two all-time New Zealand records; it sat in the charts for a record 54 weeks and was also the first-ever digital single to achieve platinum sales.

In July 2009, Tiki released his remix album ‘FLUX’. Tiki is currently releasing his music in Australia as well as working on a new album for release in 2010 in New Zealand.

Doubling as an audio engineer for top drum and bass groundbreakers Shapeshifter, Tiki is also renowned as a remix producer, and is also a gifted performance MC who has a solid reputation for boosting shows, musical works and recordings worldwide.

Free, live music is now on every Thursday night at twentyone (located on level three of the SKYCITY complex). Over the last several months SKYCITY has drawn the crowds to the bar presenting Anna Coddington, Opensouls, Jason Kerrison with T*B*C (The Babysitter’s Club), Pluto and Cornerstone Roots with plenty more top gigs in the pipeline.
