Best New Products Honoured At Fine Food New Zealand

Some of the best new products in the food, beverage, foodservice and hospitality industries were honoured at the inaugural Fine Food New Zealand exhibition this evening (Sunday, 13 June).

There were four categories in the Best New Product Awards and finalists were judged on various criteria such as taste and visual appeal, degree of innovation, functionality and value. Dozens of new products in the food, beverage, foodservice and hospitality industries were submitted to the awards before judges whittled them down to four finalists in each category.

Winning top honours in the Hospitality magazine sponsored category for Best New Hospitality Equipment was Arc Distribution Slide Control – silicon seal that stablises glassware and crockery.

Food & Beverage Today sponsored the Best New Hospitality Food or Drink Product, which was won by Waitaki Bacon and Ham for its Pure Pork Sausage.

Best New Retail Product, sponsored by Supermarket News, went to Tasman Bay Food Group for Natures Harvest Organic Cookies.

And the Restaurant & Catering News sponsored category for Best New Foodservice Product went to NZ King Salmon for its Frozen Salmon Fillet Portions.

Dona White, CEO of North Port Events and Fine Food New Zealand Event Organiser commented, “This is the first international foodservice and hospitality trade event to be held in New Zealand and it has been terrific to kick it off with some well deserved accolades. We are expecting over 7000 people through the show over the next few days, which demonstrates a real need for an event of this stature.”

Around 240 exhibitors from New Zealand, Australia and around the world are at Fine Food New Zealand, showcasing the latest in food, food service equipment and new trends in products, services and ideas shaping the industry’s future.

Launched in 1984, Fine Food Australia takes place in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, and is recognised as the pre-eminent food industry exhibition in Australia, enjoying a growing exhibitor and visitor base.
