Rugby World Cup Theme Song a Hit
Most Kiwis who have heard the campaign song for marketing the Rugby World Cup think it’s a hit, but it’s a definite flop
for older people.
UMR Research’s latest New Zealand survey of people aged 18 years and over has found that about three-quarters (71%) of
people have heard the song ‘Be Here, Right Now’ by Kiwi rock group The Feelers.
Of those that have heard the song, 64% say they like it, 32% say they don’t like it and 4% are unsure. However, most of
those over 60 who have heard it don’t like it (59%).
The song is equally popular among men and women and most popular among those aged 18-44 years with about three-quarters
of that age group saying they like it.
