MTV Iggy Hail Bang Bang Eche

MTV Iggy Hail Bang Bang Eche As One Of The
Top 25 Bands In The World

Auckland, New Zealand, Thursday 29 April 2010: MTV IGGY (formerly MTV World) has hailed Bang Bang Eche as one of the top 25 new bands in the world. Bang Bang Eche are the only band from Australasia on a very talented list of new artists carefully chosen by the staff and crew of MTV Iggy, dedicated to featuring breakthrough artists from around the world. Fans can listen to the selected 25 bands and vote for their favourite at www.mtviggy.com.

"MTV Iggy is pleased to select Bang Bang Eche to be a part of our Best New Bands in the World feature. We originally found out about them when we were researching international bands to interview at SXSW, and when we met them their youth and silliness totally won us over. The group's tightly composed dance-punk jams are a testament both to their energy and their deceptively simple songwriting ability. Now stop sitting down and start dancing!" MTVIGGY.COM
Bang Bang Eche, from Christchurch, have risen to huge worldwide success following the band’s extensive touring schedule throughout America and Europe. The selection by MTV Iggy comes days before the launch of NZ Music Month 2010, celebrating its ten year anniversary this May.
“Being recognized as one of MTV Iggy’s Best New Bands is no mean feat and a good reminder that Kiwi bands are embraced not only by their fans at home but around the world.” says Laura Glassman, MTV & Comedy Central Channel Manager NZ.

“If you have seen them live, you will completely understand how Bang Bang Eche were selected over all the hundreds of thousands of bands MTV Iggy could have chosen. Good on them!” Cath Anderson, Chief Exec of the NZ Music Commission

Find out what all the noise is about and see Bang Bang Eche perform at Union Fish Company, Britomart 6pm this Saturday – one of ten shows happening around the country to celebrate a decade of NZ Music Months.
