Elizabeth Gilbert Cancels
We are sad to announce that due to a family emergency, Elizabeth Gilbert has had to cancel her tour of New Zealand for the 2010 Auckland Writers & Readers Festival. The Festival sincerely apologises to those who have already purchased tickets for “An Evening with Elizabeth Gilbert” on Saturday 15 May, and advises them to call THE EDGE Ticketing Service on (09) 357 3355 for a full refund of the ticket price or transfer to another event. The “New Zealand Listener Opening Night” on 13 May will go ahead as planned with advertised guests Colm Tóibín, William Dalrymple, Thomas Keneally and Emily Perkins.

EVENT 30: BEST OF BOTH WORLDS
Day and time change:
from Friday 14 May, 1.30-2.30pm
to Sunday 16 May, 5.30-6.30pm
Speakers: Jeffrey Paparoa Holman and Hemana Waaka
A recent historic development in the Urewera Treaty Claim process for Ngāi Tūhoe has necessitated an urgent need to move the session on Best of Both Worlds with Jeffrey Paparoa Holman and Hemana Waaka, originally scheduled for 1.30pm on Friday 14 May, to a new time on Sunday 16 May, 5.30-6.30pm (venue unchanged, Lower NZI Room, Level 1, Aotea Centre).
Regrettably, we must move the event, with sincere apologies to those who have already booked tickets for the Friday. Your tickets will still be valid for the new date and time, however should you wish to transfer your tickets to another event or obtain a refund, please call THE EDGE Ticketing Service on (09) 357 3355.
We look forward to welcoming you to this event on Sunday 16 May to hear first-hand the latest developments, as well as a lively discussion on the issues surrounding the publication of this major Penguin history title.
