The Midnights Debut Album Release And Tour

The Midnights Debut Album Release And Tour
MAY/JUNE 2010

The Midnights have been developing their unique brand of reggae music in the NZ live scene since 2003 and are finally about to release their eagerly anticipated debut long player self-titled ‘The Midnights’.

To celebrate, they're making the most of it and treating fans to a limited edition of the album, which is available only on their upcoming tour.

The Tour Edition of ‘The Midnights’ will have a limited run of only 500 copies and will be personally hand numbered by the band.

‘The Midnights’ is an eclectic and original headphone masterpiece incorporating smoky urban reggae, low-fi digital dub, raw and rhythmic ska and psychedelic soul influences.

Recorded at York St, Loop Studios, The Macs Room and at the band’s home studio in Kingsland; The Midnights are excited about taking their album on the road.

An energetic and original live show has seen The Midnights graduate from playing house parties, ambushing folk evenings and gigging in some of Auckland’s seediest bars to performing on the national festival circuit.

Having played alongside many national and international reggae and dub luminaries such as UB40, The Wailers, Third World, The Skatalites, Maxi Priest, Arrested Development and Big Youth; The Midnights have forged a distinctive sound while garnering a reputation as a formidable and world class live act.

With earlier introductions to Kiwi ears in the forms of a limited edition EP “Hot Country’” in 2005 and appearances on compilations including Conscious Roots 2 and 3, The Midnights are setting about being more than just acquaintances with their debut album.
