Festival to Make Call in 24 Hours on Potential Programme Changes
The NZ International Comedy Festival confirms that up to only seven international comedians in this year’s programme may be affected by airport closures in the UK.
Festival Director Kylie Aitchison is relieved that the impact on the festival will be manageable “Most of our international’s are on the festival circuit and are flying in from Australia” says Aitchison
Organisers are already looking at replacement options from a group of international comedians stranded in Australia, that have just finished gigs at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Changes will be announced in 24 hours time following updates from major airports.
The NZ International Comedy Festival opens this weekend and features 250 local and international performers.
