National LEGO Building Competition

Media Release – For Immediate Release
March 2010

LEGO® New Zealand invites building enthusiasts to enter National LEGO Building Competition

On April 1 LEGO® will once again be launching the National LEGO Building Competition in conjunction with Toyworld stores nationwide.

Now in its sixth year, the annual competition encourages children to free their imagination and build the LEGO model of their dreams. This year entrants have the chance to win a dream family holiday to LEGOLAND® California.

All those interested in entering the competition simply need to build a model, take a photo and deliver their entry to their local Toyworld store.

Entries will be placed on display in local Toyworld stores throughout the duration of the competition and one finalist from each store will be chosen and awarded $100 worth of LEGO. All finalists’ entries will then be submitted for judging and the chance to be crowned National LEGO Building Champion.

This year's building champion will receive return flights to Los Angeles, five nights accommodation in the luxurious Grand Pacific Palisades Resort & Hotel, located next door to LEGOLAND California, admission for four people to the LEGOLAND California theme park for four days, as well as NZD $1,500 spending money.

The 2009 grand prize winner Issac Jourdain says one of the highlights of his trip to LEGOLAND California was building a LEGO minifigure of himself and placing it within Miniland USA where it is now permanently housed.

The National LEGO Building competition runs from April 1st 2010 until April 30th 2010, at Toyworld stores nationwide. Further details can be found in store at Toyworld.
