Cliff Richard Boosts Haiti Appeal At Concert
The Evangelical Alliance Relief Fund
PRESS RELEASE
TEAR Fund New Zealand is delighted by the success of last night’s appeal at the Cliff Richard and the Shadows Concert in Auckland. Pop legend Sir Cliff, patron of TEAR Fund’s sister organisation in the UK, endorsed TEAR Fund’s Haiti earthquake appeal.
TEAR Fund’s
events manager, Sarah Jefferies, said Sir Cliff had a real
heart for the people of Haiti. “We are delighted that Sir
Cliff is supporting TEAR Fund’s fundraising efforts for
Haiti."
Through his encouragement at last night’s
Auckland concert where he asked concert-goers to give
generously to the collectors outside, more than $5000 was
raised in half an hour. Marketing and communications
manager Sheena Duffy expressed her gratitude this morning
saying, “I am so thankful for the charitable support of
the many Aucklanders who gave generously to this worthwhile
cause.”
Despite the overwhelming response to TEAR Fund’s Haiti Appeal, more funding is still urgently required. Visit www.tearfund.org.nz to donate now.
