Friday Marks Malaghan Institute’s Lollipop Appeal
Of the one in three New Zealanders diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime, 40% won’t survive. But the news isn’t all bleak. The team of scientists at Wellington’s Malaghan Institute of Medical Research believe a cure is possible and are working hard to find one – not only for cancer, but also asthma, arthritis, multiple sclerosis and infectious diseases.
The Malaghan Institute is New Zealand’s premier vaccine and immunology research centre and has a staff of around 90, dedicated to the development of more effective immune-based therapies for the treatment of disease.
As an independent medical research facility and charitable trust, the Malaghan Institute needs support to continue this important work and to help create a healthier future for all Kiwis.
Tomorrow, Friday 26 Feb 2010, is the Malaghan Institute’s Lollipop Appeal.
Any support is gratefully received and you can do so by donating to one of our street collectors on Friday, or at any AMI branch in Wellington. Donations can also be made via the Institute’s website: www.malaghan.org.nz or by txting MALAGHAN to 2447 to make an instant $3 donation* during February.
The Malaghan Institute would like to express our sincere gratitude to our 2010 Lollipop Appeal Sponsors, in particular, principal supporter AMI Insurance, as well as Clemenger BBDO, OMD, Allens Lollipops and MagnumMac.
