The Comedy Revolution Rolls into the Capital

Wellington’s star-studded comedy event is just around the corner, over 12 international and local comedians will unite to launch a liberation of laughter!

First Laughs marks the first night of the 2010 NZ International Comedy Festival in New Zealand’s capital, the home of the country’s governing bodies. First Laughs isn’t a political party – it’s the party to kick start a season of laughs from acclaimed international and local comedic talents.

Hosted by 7 Days/@Seven hooligan Ben Hurley, the likes of Dai Henwood, Steve Wrigley and last year’s Billy T Award winner Chris Brain are just a few of the local comedians embarking down New Zealand to rally a local revolution.

Meanwhile, compatriots from around the world lend their support in this comedy alliance. Ex-pat Jarred Christmas (NZ/UK) and Zoe Lyons (UK) return after their outstanding performances during the Comedy Christmas Gala, bringing with them International Comedy Festival favourites, Jason Cook (UK) and legendary country singer Wilson Dixon (USA).

With the Cadbury® Crunchie® Comedy Gala selling out in Auckland in record time this year, don’t be surprised when the Wellington uprising follows suit and sells out; so book now and get involved!
