TOUR ANNOUNCED & ALBUM RELEASED


TODAY, Monday February 22, 2010, is the hugely anticipated New Zealand release of Connan Mockasin’s debut album - ‘Please Turn Me Into The Snat’.

This beautiful, long awaited debut album introduces the listener to the amazing world of Connan Mockasin - from cats with larger-than-life personalities, unicorns in uniform, to alter egos such as Don Dicaprio. It was written and recorded over 18-months, in East Sussex, UK and an abandoned haunted house in Wellington. (Get the album here now)

In celebration of todays release of ‘Please Turn Me Into The Snat’, a New Zealand Tour has also just been announced. The four show tour will see Connan performing around New Zealand with his multi talented band that includes Sam Eastgate (from top UK electro pop act Late of the Pier), Elroy Finn and Will Ricketts (The Phoenix Foundation).

Following the success of the two singles ‘Megumi The Milkyway Above’ and ‘Its Choade My Dear’, Connan will perform tracks from his new album on this very special NZ tour.

Since relocating to the UK from his New Zealand over three years ago, Connan Mockasin has charmed audiences everywhere; from Hyde Park (where he played alongside the White Stripes) and Green Man Festival (Robert Plant, Joanna Newsom) to London’s legendary Durr club, where he remains the only artist to have been invited back three times. He has collaborated with Fatboy Slim on a track for the DJ/producer’s new album Brighton Port Authority, which also includes contributions from David Byrne and Iggy Pop.
