Upper Hutt Senior Team and Captain Receive Official Reprimands
Both the Upper Hutt United Cricket Club’s senior team and its captain Shane Brockelbank have received formal reprimands, following a Hazlett Trophy match on Saturday 6 February.
In the match played at Barton Oval between Upper Hutt and North City, Brockelbank was cited for “unacceptable behaviour”. The charge was filed by the North City Cricket Club, whom also alleged that verbal comments made by the Upper Hutt team and directed at the North City batsman at various times constituted “unacceptable behaviour”, and were a breach the Code of Conduct.
At a hearing on 11 February, Code of Conduct Commissioner Mr Mike Gould found that the charge of unacceptable behaviour against Brockelbank had been established, and imposed a formal reprimand as penalty.
To the North City charge that members of the Upper Hutt team engaged in unacceptable verbal abuse of the North City player, the Commissioner found that the charge against unidentified members of the Upper Hutt team had been established, and issued a formal reprimand against the Upper Hutt senior team.
