Global comedy rock-star, Russell Peters’ (www.russellpeters.com) five city tour across Australia and New Zealand has been rescheduled for May 2010 due to an unexpected scheduling conflict.
Russell has landed a role in the Sci-fi action movie, Source Code directed by Duncan Jones (Moon) and star Jake Gyllenhaal (Jarhead), Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air) and Michelle Monaghan (Eagle Eye). Originally scheduled to start shooting after the Australiasian tour, Russell's shoot dates were moved-up when the producers decided to expand his role in the film with additional scenes and dialogue. Russell must now report to set on February 23rd until the end of March.
"This wasn't an easy decision to make. I've been looking for good film roles for a while now and this one's pretty good," says Russell. "The New Zealand fans have always been right there with me and I've always had a great time down under. I hope that they'll still join me when The Green Card Tour comes to New Zealand in May."
"We sincerely regret having to post-pone the Australia / New Zealand tour. We've never had to postpone a tour before, so this is a big deal for us especially when it is so far from home" notes Manager and brother, Clayton Peters.
Tickets from the March tour dates will be honoured for the rescheduled shows in May.
Fans unable to attend the re-scheduled shows can receive a refund for their ticket(s) up until Wednesday, March 31st.
Peters has set the national tour as part of his “Green Card Tour,” featuring all new material since the release of his latest DVD, Red, White and Brown. In 2009 he was ranked by Forbes -- along with Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock -- as one of the top ten highest grossing stand-up comics in the U.S. With his signature irreverent take on race, culture and all of our so-called differences, Peters has gained a devoted global following and has been packing theatres, arenas and clubs worldwide for two decades.
