Atamira Dance Company presents
HOU = NEW
Stirring New Works from Emerging Choreographers
Atamira Dance Company is delighted to announce that HOU will be performed at MauForum for 2 nights only, on March 6th and 7th.
Hou will showcase innovative performances from new choreographers who will be exploring genealogy, identity, culture and technology, while looking at discovering new boundaries in Maori contemporary dance.
Representing a new wave of young Maori choreographers, HOU features 3 exciting works-in-progress by Gaby Thomas, Nancy Wijohn and Pare Randall, alongside short works by established Atamira Choreographers Moss Patterson and Maaka Pepene.
Join Atamira for a symposium following the performance for a Q with the choreographers, and a panel discussion on the latest thinking in Maori creativity and contemporary Maori arts practice, led by Moana Nepia with invited guest speakers Dr Huhana Smith, Louise Potiki Bryant and others.
Wine and food will be served and all welcome.
