New Day. New Threat. New York.
Brand new season of 24 "Day 8" to premiere on C4 in February.
A new day is about to dawn in the U.S as 24 fans prepare for the premiere of a brand new season (Season 8) this evening. In New Zealand, Season 8 (Day 8) will premiere on Friday February 5th - as part of C4's New Season 2010.
Season 8 (Day 8) will unfold in New York City amidst the shadows of the Statue of Liberty and the United Nations. When we last saw Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland), his life was hanging in the balance. But, true to form, the hardest man in television is back for another heart stopping, action-packed series. We first see Bauer as we rarely do -happy. He's hoping for a quiet life with his daughter Kim (Elisha Cuthbert, Captivity) and his granddaughter. However, a group of terrorists have other plans and an assassination plot against a visiting Middle Eastern leader Omar Hassan (Anil Kapoor, Slumdog Millionaire) is uncovered. It’s not long before Bauer is unwillingly drawn back into the intense action and called upon to help prevent Hassan’s murder.
In this new day, CTU has been upgraded and is headed by Special Agent Brian Hastings (Mykelti Williamson, Forrest Gump) - who is a new addition to the 24 cast. Other new cast members include Katee Sackhoff, Freddie Prinze Jr., John Boyd, Jennifer Westfeldt, Chris Diamantopoulos and the aforementioned Bollywood star Anil Kapoor. Fans will be happy to see Gregory Itzin reprising his acclaimed role as disgraced former president Charles Logan.
Returning for Day 8 are CTU devotee Chloe O’Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub, Little Miss Sunshine), Renee Walker (Annie Wersching, General Hospital) and President Allison Taylor played by Cherry Jones (Ocean’s Twelve) fresh from her Emmy® win for her work on Day 7.
With a relocation to New York, the return of CTU and new exciting cast additions, this season looks set to be one of the best yet.
24, Season 8 premieres on C4 - Friday February 5th at 9.30pm
Also coming to C4 as part of New Season 2010 : The Cleveland Show, Melrose Place, Models of the Runway, Heroes, Dollhouse and more...
