Wellington travels to Gisborne next week to contest the National U17 tournament which gets underway on Tuesday 12 January at the Harry Barker Reserve.
The eight-day tournament (with a rest day on Saturday the 16th) between the six Major Association U17 sides consists of three rounds of two-day matches, followed by two rounds of limited over matches.
Points from limited over matches are to be added to those earned in the two-day matches when determining the tournament winner or joint winners should two or more teams finish on the same number of points.
Wellington meets Central Districts in their first two-day match, followed by Otago and then Auckland. In the two one-day matches, Wellington meets Northern Districts and then defending champions Canterbury on the last day.
