2010 Starts With A Bang For Ngatea and Darfield Lotto Winners

2010 has started with a bang for two Lotto players in Ngatea and Darfield, who have each won $560,369 on tonight’s Lotto First Division, says NZ Lotteries’ Chief Executive, Todd McLeay.

“It’s the beginning of a new decade, and for these Ngatea and Darfield players, it’s a new financial beginning,” says Mr McLeay.

Their winning tickets were sold at Ngatea Lotto in Ngatea and Darfield Dairy in Darfield.

Lotto’s Holiday 200 Promotion has made instant millionaires of two lucky players who bought tickets in Bulls and Mosgiel. The winning $1 million vouchers were sold at Bulls Four Square in Bulls and in East Tairei Dairy in Mosgiel.

In addition, two fabulous $500,000 cash prizes towards a bach have been won by players who bought tickets at Lincoln Road Pak’n’Save in Waitakere and Paper Plus Kaitaia in Kaitaia.

All Lotto players who purchased a Triple Dip between Sunday 13 December 2009, and 7pm Saturday 2 January 2010, were given vouchers for tonight’s special draw to win one of 200 fabulous extra prizes in Lotto’s Holiday 200 Promotion. Lotto Powerball has jackpotted this week, and will be worth an estimated $8 million in next Saturday’s draw.

Lotto Strike was struck, with a lucky player from Lower Hutt winning $501,557. The winning ticket was sold at Lower Hutt Lotto in Lower Hutt.

Meanwhile, Louise Coats and husband Greg were tonight’s other big winners after spinning up $125,000 on Lotto’s Winning Wheel.

All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto’s Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy. Players can check their ticket at any lottery outlet.

Tonight’s Winning Wheel ticket was won by a player who bought their ticket from Countdown Kaiapoi in Kaiapoi. The serial number is 580-60280111-20XX.

“Anyone who bought a ticket at any of our winning retailers should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it as soon as possible,” Mr McLeay says.
