New Zealand Objects

Our gallery space is situated in a part of the country that is generally considered the real N.Z. We are not really a collective, but should be considered a Post-studio gallery whose projects relate to this question: Does specialization in the N.Z. economy produce a need to create a work of art outside studio-based methods of production?

Mostly these “round-ups” concern the goings on of higher thought in Hamilton. They should interest anyone following any University produced minds producing Art-works. The year was as follows:

Tuesday, July 28, 2009
Winter. It’s a document of an art-work in the form of a book. 81 copies only and in full colour. It’s a bit like “Hänsel und Gretel.” The comment is from a reader and his wife in the main street. They seemed quite concerned about the difficulty of the art-work.

Wednesday, August 5, 2009
Still winter. The art-work gets another run on the web-page. It’s my in-laws favourite look. The thought’s around the town turned to egalitarianism. My own were about the “Classless Society”.

Thursday, August 6, 2009
Winter, but a sunny day. These ‘Control Objects’ are arranged in mock-installation. The dialogue is from around the bar scene …

Friday, August 7, 2009
Bright day. This object is a trip to the north of the region and gives a feeling of what is worth remembering. I won’t get into what I consider the material here. The form incorporates a photographic construction into my creative process. It is dominant.

Wind day and overcast. Photographic objects. Plural sculpture. Drawings. All created to expand
the Western canon of Fine Art and conquer the marketing industry’s perception of artistic practices worldwide. The main street talk was full of foreign voices and necessity. I remember the time I first saw a camera.

Thursday, August 13, 2009
Rain. Second book the gallery has put together. Vague religious reference. It’s something unable to be expressed. Ancient greek scholars where seen around the town. The topic is evident from the dialogue on the gallery’s page.

Monday, August 17, 2009
More rain. Third book of photographs and a product of a trip north. Socialist feeling is a vague discovery I expected to find here. The dialogue is from a friend in Wellington. It may or may not be true.

Monday, August 24, 2009
Rain. Low light. Fishing rod construction. These forms mark out movement when installed. Their sister objects are absent. The dialogue is a question from a coffee break.

Friday, September 11, 2009
Rain. Autumn. Bookmark. Comments were sent in from Malaya. The gallery has fans most places. Mostly it’s due to the specific and descriptive name. The book is background research toward constructing an alternative electoral system. It is to take the form of an object-based artistic machine.

Tuesday, October 13, 2009
Summer. Stills from a video art-work called: “The Black Lands”. These objects further the photographic constructions dominance in my creative process. More dialogue from the café scene at the University. The video takes place in a number of places. Only one is shown in the listings page.

Monday, October 19, 2009
Sun. This ‘Control Object’ was found lying around the semi-domestic area of the gallery. The photographic form collects the nature of the material. Mostly language-based, the object’s function is to grow vegetables. It’s appearance suggests a sci-fi setting. I believe dada has made it. No dialogue of note from the bar scene …

Friday, November 13, 2009
Cloudy. Six ‘Control Objects’. Metaphor suggests there are two socio-Economic Information units present. The rest are immigrants. The previous week has shown the influence of my Political writings. The town is largely filled with rain and less foreigners than I am used to.

Saturday, November 14, 2009
Sun. An appendix to producing the sculptural objects in “The Black Lands” video art-work. The dialogue is further discussion on the topic of Foreign Policy. It is from the café scene as well.

Monday, November 16, 2009
Wind. Cloud. The photographic object is made to resemble a supplement. The dialogue is another example of discussion between Ancient greeks.

Tuesday, November 17, 2009
Sun. This three dimensional form holds a function that has been expanded. The photographic form aims to collect what the photographic device sees.
