Death and the Dreamlife gets second life
After completely selling out the remaining dates of its season at BATS Theatre the critically-acclaimed production Death and the Dreamlife of Elephants is pleased to announce a Matinee show.
The matinee will be performed this Saturday November 21 at 2pm, at BATS Theatre, Kent Terrace.
Death and the Dreamlife of Elephants has received very positive reviews since opening last week in BATS Theatre's STAB season, and has been nominated in five categories for the 2009 Chapman Tripp Theatre Awards.
Death and the Dreamlife of Elephants tells the story of Julian Gallo, an ordinary 30 year-old who finds himself in extraordinary circumstances as he searches for the memory of his mother, who urges him to 'follow his bliss'.
The reviews for the production, which inventively marketed itself with radio plays, recorded dialogue playing in nightclub toilets, and tarot card readings in Cuba St, have been very positive.
"Brilliantly produced, amazing,
multi-faceted… Leo Gene Peters has done an outstanding job
co-coordinating the smoothly choreographed production, which
is performed on Tracey Monastra's magnificently adaptable
setting."
Laurie Atkinson, Dominion Post
"This show is
a must-see for any theatre connoisseur. If you are someone
who digs creativity, being lost in an acid trip, and/or
having a damn good think, then you should make it your
business to check this out."
Jackson Coe, Salient
"Leo
Gene Peters and his team have created a mesmerising two
hours of superbly produced and performed live
theatre."
John Smythe, Theatreview
"It’s ambitious
and beautiful to watch."
Lynn Freeman, Capital
