PRESS RELEASE

Budding artists get their chance to shine

Budding artists will get their chance to shine at Pataka Museum's Blue Pacific Gallery, when the Purapura Whetu: Myriad of Stars exhibition opens on November 27th 2009.

Senior students from Whitireia NZ's Visual Arts and Design Degree course will be exhibiting their final years' work, including printmaking, painting, photography, bone carving and jewellery.

Well known NZ artist Michael Tuffery, an ex-student, will be guest speaker at the exhibition opening.

Spokesperson, senior student Anna Nelson says Purapura Whetu: Myriad of Stars is a vibrant exhibition of diverse and dynamic works.
"These art works are the culmination of a year of experimentation and hard work by degree students in their second and third years. It's a good opportunity for anyone interested in art to see what's on offer".

Purapura Whetu: Myriad of Stars will open at the Blue Pacific Gallery, Pataka Museum of Arts and Cultures in Porirua on November 27th 2009. The exhibition continues until January 10th 2010.
