Set in 1948 in pre-Communist China, this is the story
of sisters Fei and Ying, one illegitimate and one born in
wedlock, but bound together by the will of their late
father, a legendary business entrepreneur. They are also
caught up in a love triangle with a charismatic ex-boxer and
casino owner, Huang. Directed by US-based Ann Hu, this is a
story about characters bound by family obligations and
social status.
