• The Silver Ferns and the Jamaican Sunshine Girls last met in a full International Test in the Semi Final of the 2007 World Championships in Auckland. The Silver Ferns won the match 59-49 but the Sunshine Girls led 30-26 at half time.
• The Silver Ferns and Sunshine Girls last met on Jamaican soil in 2005. The teams played a 2 Test Series with the Silver Ferns winning both Tests. The closest result was an 18-goal win to the Silver Ferns in the First Test, the Second Test was won by the Silver Ferns by 35-goals.
• The Silver Ferns and Sunshine Girls have met 12 times in Jamaica with the Silver Ferns winning 10, Sunshine Girls 1 and there has been 1 draw.
• The National Indoor Sports Centre where this Test will be played is the site of the Silver Ferns famous 2003 World Championship victory over the Diamonds. The Silver Ferns defeated the Diamonds 49-47 to claim their 4th World Championship title.
