The
New Zealand Federation of Business and Professional Women
(BPWNZ) and the Rua and Clarrie Stevens Trust have
collaborated to bring Christina Berton PhD to New Zealand to
empower women through self-esteem.
Christina has a
doctorate degree in Jungian Couples Therapy. She has
additional specialisation in Resonance Repatterning and
Family Systems Therapy. Since 2007, she has served as
advisor for the DOVE Self Esteem Fund in Mexico that has
reached more than 85,000 people through conferences and
workshops.
As part of our national Family Violence
Project, BPWNZ are inviting all women in New Zealand to
share in this ground-breaking presentation that delves into
the issues and challenges surrounding self-esteem.
Self-esteem affects everyone from all walks of life,
backgrounds, professions, ethnicities and economic
circumstances.
Do you know that 1 in 3 New Zealand
women will experience violence from their intimate partner
during the term of their relationship?
BPW New
Zealand decided that they needed to understand and offer
practical solutions to women which was supportive and
enabling. The Liberty of Being Me tour offers every woman
these opportunities!
Research has identified effects
on children of observing violence at home and they include;
internalising and externalising affects (these include
anxiety, fear, somatic problems, depression and withdrawal
while externalising effects incorporate aggression,
disobedience and destructiveness); effects on self-concept
(i.e. self-esteem); social skills (i.e. detrimental effects
on social development) and school performance (i.e. lowered
achievement).
With the purpose of creating awareness,
participants will learn the importance of self-esteem.
