The festival promises to be dynamic community event, celebrating innovative Dunedin sustainability, community spirit, and all things green and growing! The festival will bring together food producers, schools, churches, NGOs and community groups from all sectors to celebrate the start of the growing season and share knowledge about environmental issues and solutions. A local Dunedin filmmaker will also be covering the event for a documentary to be completed later this year. The Festival expects a 10,000 strong crowd attending to enjoy the numerous vibrant activities on offer. More information is now available on http://www.springfoodfestival.org.nz/

The Spring Food Festival is brought to you by Dunedin’s 350 volunteer team. 350 is a global movement raising awareness about the current climate issues our planet is facing, and seeking to influence world leaders to make the right decisions at December’s Copenhagen convention. The name ‘350’ refers to the safe upper limit of CO2 in our atmosphere, where we can live sustainably on earth – making this number the goal for all climate change discussions. The Festival will coincide with events organized all around the country and around the globe as part of the 350 campaign. Dunedin’s Spring Food Festival is going to be the biggest 350 action in the country.

350 Dunedin is grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Wellington International Ukelele Orchestra, and hopes that Dunedin residents will take the opportunity to enjoy some fantastic music, and support this positive and meaningful community event.
