Calling All Kiwi Artists

As nominations for the inaugural New Zealander of the Year Awards continue to flood in from across our great nation, it’s time to commence the search for an outstanding Kiwi artist to make their mark in history and help us to reward New Zealand’s best people.

The New Zealander of the Year Awards is currently seeking a Kiwi artist to create a unique New Zealand themed trophy to present to each of the following award winners:

• Kiwibank New Zealander of the Year
• Ryman Healthcare Senior New Zealander of the Year
• Coca-Cola Amatil Young New Zealander of the Year
• Mitre 10 Community of the Year
• Kiwibank Local Hero

We are looking for a talented artist who can capture the true essence of New Zealand within the trophy design.

Ideally handmade, from a distinctly natural New Zealand product the design will capture and convey New Zealand’s stunning environment and abundance of contrasting landscapes, cultures and people.
The design being sought should also be a representation of all that which is uniquely Kiwi and include inspirational meanings and symbols of success, achievement, leadership and honour.

Involvement in this awards program is an excellent opportunity for the selected artist to gain widespread exposure throughout New Zealand.
Upon selection of an overall winning trophy design, creation and completion of five trophies to be presented at the New Zealander of the Year Awards Gala Presentation in February 2010 will commence.

The successful artist will also have the opportunity to negotiate an ongoing commitment to design, create and deliver the trophies on an annual basis for a minimum contract of five years.
