MTV NEW ZEALAND’S OCTOBER 2009 PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS
THE HILLS GIRLS TAKEOVER MTV, THE DUEL NZ, SEX… WITH MOM AND DAD AND MORE.
AUCKLAND, FRIDAY 18th September, 2009 – They’ve become as iconic with MTV as the Moon-man; not content with their reality series running on the network, they’ve decided to takeover MTV New Zealand.
Every Saturday throughout October from 12pm, The Hills Girls Takeover MTV and provide viewers with the chance to see some of the Lauren, Heidi and Audrina’s most fabulous moments from all five seasons of their show. Each week the girls will give you the low-down on the glitz, glamour, heartbreak, villains and the soundtrack which has made The Hills utterly addictive viewing.
There are no teams; it’s every man and woman for themsevles, pushing through extreme physical challenges leading up to an epic finale and the chance to win a split of $300,000. The Duel NZ, screening for the first time on NZ TV Sundays, 6:30pm from October 4th, pits 26 competitors to complete in the most intense Real World/Road Rules Challenge ever – and it all takes place in our own backyard; Aotearoa!
Real, fun, awkward and life changing – sex can be described as all those things. It also describes Sex… With Mom and Dad, debuting every Tuesday at 9pm from October 6th, isn’t as literal as the title may indicate. “Dr. Drew” Pinski (from Celebrity Rehab fame) sees 20 teens and their parents to get to the root of their problem when it comes to sex education in this groundbreaking MTV series. The show also proves that if you can talk to your parents about matters in the bedroom, you can probably talk to them about anything.
Who’s House? Run’s House! In fact, it’s the sixth season that Reverend Run (of Run DMC fame) allows MTV into his house. Playing Thursdays at 9pm from October 8th, Run’s family exploits involve holidaying in Hawaii through to life back at home in New Jersey, where the rap icon goes from baby proofing his house through to a new career – being an office worker. Expect the classic humour and drama that has endeared Hip Hop’s First Family to MTV viewers across the world.
You’ve not just been Punk’d, you’ve been Prank’d. With no producers, no professional editors or cameramen, Streeter Seidell and Amir Blumenfield (of CollegeHumour.com and fresh from their seven part “Prank War”) bring home made pranks engineered and executed by kids and normal everyday people, providing commentary each episode. Prank’d debuts on MTV New Zealand Thursday October 8th at 8:30pm, and plays each Thursday thereafter.
