New General Manager Appointed To Vector Wellington Orchestra

The Vector Wellington Orchestra has announced the appointment of Diana Marsh as General Manager of the VWO from October this year.

Diana Marsh is an experienced arts administrator and has held various high profile posts, including Manager of the New Zealand String Quartet for nearly seven years and Manager of the Composing Women’s Festival. She also has governance experience, being on the Board of the Nelson Music Festival Trust which presents the Adam Chamber Music Festival.

Diana has been a contributor to Radio New Zealand Concert’s “Pressing-On” and has worked with Creative New Zealand, the New Zealand School of Music Fundraising Campaign and the Ministry for Culture and Heritage.

Diana is to succeed Christine Pearce, who is leaving the orchestra later this month, having been General Manager for eight years.

Vector Wellington Orchestra Chairman Phillip Meyer said the board was delighted with Diana Marsh’s appointment.

“We are very privileged to have Diana joining us.

She has the skills and knowledge to lead the orchestra through its next phase as it builds on the strong artistic standards and profile that outgoing General Manager Christine Pearce and Music Director Marc Taddei have achieved,” Mr Meyer said.

Ms Marsh said she was very much looking forward to taking up post with the VWO early in October.

"This is a great opportunity to build on the Vector Wellington Orchestra's excellence on the concert platform, to realise the vast potential of the Orchestra in the regions and most of all, to continue to enrich people's lives through music.

“By working closely with the players, the staff, the artists, the Board and all the Vector Wellington Orchestra’s partners and supporters, I believe that we can build on the enormous artistic achievements of recent years," she said.
