We have another sensational international and national line up of events planned that we guarantee will excite and entertain.
This weekend sees a double header of Te Radar’s “Eating the Dog” (ironic title given recent media reports) on Saturday night, don’t panic you loyal All Black fans, the show will be finished in time for the 10pm kick off. And on Sunday afternoon at 4pm Opera Hawke’s Bay are presenting “Celebrating Opera”. “This concert will feature choruses of the world’s best loved operas such as Les Miserables, Die Fledermaus, Faust, La Boheme and La Traviata. The most well known songs from some of the best Operas in the world - what a great way to spend your time on a Sunday afternoon!
Did you know it would have been Michael Jackson birthday on the 29th of August? To commemorate the life and music of Michael Jackson a FREE concert featuring DJ Little B and an entourage of Hawke's Bay singers and entertainers will be held in the Hawke's Bay Opera House Plaza.
The Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra one of New Zealand’s hottest acts is coming to Hawke's Bay! We are thrilled to announce as well as playing a full concert on Saturday the 17th of October they will also be making a guest appearance at Friday’s Secondary Schools ukulele concert in the Plaza. If that’s not enough to inspire you we will be gathering all of Hawke's Bay’s ukulele players to attempt the Guinness World Record for the largest Ukulele Ensemble on Saturday morning 12noon - so dust off your Uke’s and lets put the Hawke’s Bay Ukulele Festival in Hastings on the world stage!!!
If you have not already heard “Busting Out” is taking New Zealand by storm - you don’t want to miss this comedy spectacular. A ‘D cup’ full of entertainment direct from Melbourne’s Festival. The ladies promise an evening overflowing with brazen, fun entertainment.

Te Radar’s Eating the Dog is an original comedy work written and performed by comedian, satirist and raconteur Te Radar. It’s an educational and satirical look through New Zealand's history focusing on the people that gave it a red hot go, but perhaps lost a limb, or their life, in the process.

Ngati Kahungunu Secondary Schools Performing Arts Competition 2009
Kapa Haka that push past the traditional boundaries. This is a competition that allows young people to explore their creative minds. To utilise and revive the use of traditional Polynesian instruments, to incorporate modern Maori dance and compose waiata with contemporary beats.
