Botany Cinema First In NZ To Screen New Transformers Movie
On Wednesday June 24th Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen hits cinemas here in New Zealand. With many cinemas choosing to hold midnight screenings, the Berkeley Cinemas Botany Town Centre has pulled out all the stops to lead the charge with a special 11pm (Tuesday 23rd June) screening to give fans their first taste of this much anticipated film.
This session will be the first session on sale to the public in New Zealand, possibly the world. In a move harking back to the releases of the blockbusters of yesteryear, the East-Auckland cinema will be holding 24 sessions in 24 hours – one on the hour each hour from the 11pm session on Tuesday June 23rd.
Botany Town Centre’s Berkeley Cinemas Complex Manager Neil Lambert said: “When a film of this size and magnitude comes along you have got to consider yourself lucky to be able to present it to the public, so we felt it needed a launch to match this grandeur. We have a few special tricks up our sleeves for the first session, that won’t have been seen in New Zealand cinema for some time. The romance and excitement of going to the movies has never been bigger than right now.”
Paramount Pictures Managing Director Peter Garner concurred: “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is one of the most anticipated film releases this year we are thrilled to be working with Berkeley Cinemas to provide the film with the profile it deserves. It is a big undertaking from the people at Botany Town Centre and we are sure it will provide a lot of excitement and entertainment too many people.”
TRANSFORMERS was released in June 2007 and grossed
nearly $7m dollars at the New Zealand box office making it
