ITFNZ Taekwon-Do Tournament
The Wellington region of International Taekwon-Do Foundation of New Zealand (ITFNZ) is holding it’s annual regional tournament this coming Sunday 14th June at Onslow College.
The Tournament will host over 160 local competitors including recently selected elite athletes to represent New Zealand at the ITF World Championships in Argentina later this year.
“It’s great that local Wellingtonians Mr Richard Lavin from Wellington North, Mr Kane Baigent from Upper Hutt, Ms Chris Morton from Wellington East and Mr Stu Maden of Upper Hutt have made the 40 strong New Zealand team.” Says Nick Lourantos Wellington Regional Director.
The Tournament will showcase all disciplines of Taekwon-Do; Patterns, Sparring, Specialty, Power as well as team events. Public are welcome to attend and entrance is free.
Other information: Wellington City will play host to the ITF World Championships in March of 2011 comprising of over 600 competitors from over 65 countries.
ITFNZ Taekwon-Do is a version of unarmed combat designed for the purpose of self-defence founded by the father of Taekwon-Do General Choi Hong Hi.
