Local Bands Partner With Eventfinder Ticketing

Media Release: 13 May 2009

Local Bands Partner With Eventfinder Ticketing

On the back of the successful Phoenix Foundation tour, dDub and Batucada Sound Machine have signed Eventfinder (eventfinder.co.nz) as their ticketing services partner.

Craig Pearce, co-manager of The Phoenix Foundation says that "We wouldn't have sold anywhere near as many tickets if it wasn't for Eventfinder's support."

"We sold out four shows online, and tickets were selling so fast on Eventfinder we had to pull out physical tickets from stores."

Eventfinder's ticketing service enables online ticket sales for gigs, general admission events and large scale festivals.

"Our ticketing platform is the result of more than two years' research and development" says Michael Turner, Eventfinder CEO.

"We have been working with bands, venues and promoters to make a ticketing service that suits their needs. We can setup simple, single price gigs in around 3 minutes. Large scale events that range over a number of days with complex, multi-day tiered pricing takes a little longer, maybe 10 minutes."

Pearce says that "Eventfinder are the most responsive ticketing service I've worked with."

"We changed the inventory level upwards a few times because online sales were so strong, and we even changed venues for one gig. These can be difficult to organise in my experience, but the Eventfinder crew just got it done. I'm definitely using them for the other bands I manage."

The Eventfinder ticketing platform allows for the sale of add-ons, from merchandising extras to campground passes. The platform also has a sophisticated system for issuing and redeeming promotional codes.

"We can work with the event promoter to schedule staged pricing levels automatically, and arrange the distribution of unique promotional codes to our syndication partners and print, radio or television media" says Turner.

Tracking the effectiveness of the promotional codes means valuable business intelligence can be gathered.

One of the unique advantages of Eventfinder providing ticketing services to gigs and events is their broad penetration via content syndication.

Eventfinder already has the largest syndication network and is the exclusive supplier of event information to major media in New Zealand (Yahoo!Xtra, MSN, NZHerald, Stuff), all the Fairfax regionals (Dominion Post, Manawatu Standard, Marlborough Express, Nelson Mail, Christchurch Press, Southland Times, Sunday News, Sunday Star Times, Taranaki Daily News, Timaru Herald and Waikato Times), travel organisations (including AA Travel and Jasons) plus over 100 smaller independent websites and print publications such as TimeOut magazine.

Ticketing services can be provided for as little as $1 per ticket sold, with no charges or fees to the end consumer.
