2009 Billy T nominee Dave Wiggins returns to the festival with his new show “I’m a Believer.” Wiggins has been a Comedy Festival regular ever since his first outing in 2004 where he was voted Best Newcomer. This will be his third solo shows, so he’s no stranger to the process of pulling a crowd and making them laugh.

“I am very proud of my pervious solo shows at the festival,” Wiggins explains. “But this year I wanted to write a show with a bit more substance. I’m a Believer is all about exploring what I believe in. Stand up is typically very cynical so I want to do a show that subverts that. I want to do a show that is meaningful and deep but in a positive and fun way.”

I’m a Believer will feature Wiggins’ trademark clean, energetic observational humour as he weaves his way through topic such as politics, the internet, climate change, fatherhood and faith.

“The concept for me is to explore these topics but not in a hard hitting way. My comedy has never been about alienating anyone with loud opinions or explicit material. I’d describe my shows as fun and funny.”
