INSIDER /
OUTSIDER
Janet Campbell & Nicholas Rodgers
Opens 5.00 - 7.00pm Monday 20 April. Then open daily 10.00am - 5.00pm Tuesday 21 - Saturday 25 April.
Nicholas does what is usually referred to as Outsider Art; which is very ‘in’ at the moment. His grandmother does rather traditional figurative paintings with no social or political content; which is rather ‘out’. So, who’s out and who’s in?
In this exhibition Nicholas has concentrated on his Olympic paintings, and models of significant boats. Janet is exhibiting paintings about travel, grandchildren growing up, and one of her great pleasures, swimming.

HIGH ENDEAVOUR
Norman Sinclair
Opening 6.00pm Monday 27 April.
My paintings create an historical record, and are painted in the contemporary realism style, deliberately aiming at a truthful depiction of the realities I see. I get to "see" the subjects of my "niche" area, the South Island High Country, because I go out on musters, walking through the remote valleys and over mountain passes with the musterers, riding horses, flying in helicopters, and using whatever mode of transport is available to get in amongst the action. I also paint landscapes and the human form, but the people and animals who work the land in some of NZ's wildest countryside are my signature topic.
