Bluff Oyster Festival Boosted By Major Contribution

A major financial contribution by the Bay View Hotel in Bluff has boosted the Bluff Oyster & Food Festival Committee's confidence that another memorable event is in store again on Saturday 23 May. The major cash injection has been received from Laurel Savage and Anthony Edwards of the Bay View Hotel for the 2009 Festival.

Bluff Oyster & Food Festival Committee Chairman, John Edminstin, said he was "overwhelmed" by the support of the Bay View Hotel. "It assures us of another top class event and relieves much of the pressure associated with hosting such an event. Along with the support of our other major supporters and funders such as Real Journeys, who supply the site, and other sponsorship packages from the New Zealand Community Trust, the ILT Foundation, Community Trust Of Southland, Bluff Oyster Management Company, Lion Nathan, Party Plus Invercargill and South Port NZ Ltd the 2009 Festival now has a very solid foundation."

Anthony Edwards of the Bay View Hotel say's that he and Laurel Savage are "absolutely thrilled as part of the Bluff community to help that community along."

The Festival will take place at the Real Journeys site on Foreshore Road adjacent to the Old Town Wharf in Bluff on Saturday 23 May. Tickets for the event are $15 each while tickets for children 12 & under will sell at $5 each. A $3 booking fee will apply to transactions.

Tickets are available from the Invercargill City Council Booking Office in Esk Street, Invercargill, the Bluff Service Centre, Gore Street, Bluff and www.ticketdirect.co.nz .
