This Week's Highlight
Dear Mr Waldman (Michtavim Le America) (2006):
Writer/director Hanan Peled has crafted a magnificent film that has as much to say about blind devotion and chronic
denialism - ironically, on both sides of the Nazi persecution of the Jews - as the immediate and lingering effects of
systemic ethnic cleansing.
Short synopsis: In the early sixties, Hilik, a ten-year-old boy who lives in Tel Aviv, is torn between fear that his
father, a holocaust survivor, would abandon him, and the wish to make him happy. Hilik chooses to test his father's love
to him, while accepting the risk of losing him.
