A Delicious Way to Give: Newman’s Own Foundation Donates $100,000
The Newman’s Own Foundation is donating $100,000 to New Zealand charities from the profits of Paul Newman’s Own products
sold here, making charitable grants of up to $20,000 each.
Last year nine New Zealand charities received donations of up to $20,000 for nominated special projects.
The Newman’s Own Foundation has now given away more than $NZ850,000 to community-based charities in this country since
the Paul Newman’s Own products were introduced in 1991.
Internationally the Newman’s Own Foundation has donated a staggering $NZ475 million to charity.
Newman’s Own Foundation spokesperson Sue Home said any charity, big or small, with a specific individual project can
apply to the foundation.
“We are inviting applications from any charity that needs funding for a specific project to apply” said Home. “Each
charitable project will be considered entirely on merit and not on the size or reputation of the organisation making the
request – the focus is all about making a difference.”
Last year grants were used on a range of projects from providing victims of family violence with the latest security
technology for their homes; giving gifted young musicians mentoring, and providing scholarships, encouragement and new
horses for the highly successful Riding for the Disabled organisation.
