MTV Is Moving On Up!
AUCKLAND, MONDAY MARCH 23, 2009 – MTV New Zealand are thrilled to announce that On April 1st they are busting a move to Sky Digital 014!
MTV New Zealand audiences can continue to enjoy all the top rating MTV programmes, presenters and celebs at the new location, also check out the brand-spanking new MTV shows this April.
The first in the line up is Bromance, which will be premiering on April 6th at 8pm. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck put it on the map. George Clooney and Brad Pitt openly embrace it. Now, Brody Jenner is looking for it. But just what is "it"? Bromance, of course!
The Hills star Brody Jenner (ex boyfriend of Lauren Conrad) is looking for a new mate to join his entourage; a group of nine “bros” will compete in a range of extreme challenges. The ‘bros’ who do not make the grade will be voted out from the “bachelor pad” during weekly ‘Hot Tub Elimination Ceremonies’!
The very first installment of New Zealand’s own MTV NEWS launches on April 3. The first episode will include Jay Reeve interviewing International stars at the Vodafone MTV Australia Awards; make sure you tune in for all the glitz and glamour.
MTV News will play every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Jay Reeves and Amber Peebles will bring international and local news straight to your door.
Don’t forget to watch the Vodafone MTV Australia Awards 2009 which are being broadcast live from the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour, on MTV New Zealand, Friday March 27, 9:30pm (NZ Time). Amber Peebles will co host the red carpet show with Audrina Patridge from The Hills at 10.30pm (NZ Time).
Performers at this year’s Awards will include Jessica Mauboy, The Fray, The Killers, Kings Of Leon (via satellite) and Sia, while Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz is the main host for the evening. Dannii Minogue and Duffy have just been confirmed as part of the impressive line up of hosts, they will be joining presenters Lara Bingle, Rhys Darby and Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus.
Find out who wins the Best Kiwi Award, the nominees include - Cut off your Hands, P Money, Nesian Mystik, Goodnight Nurse and Ladyhawke. Viewers can register and place their votes online at www.mtv.co.nz until voting closes on Wednesday March 25, 2009.
Another new fixture is MTV World Stage which gives New Zealanders the chance to see the most talked about concerts from around the globe - without even leaving the sofa!
Every Friday at 11pm MTV New Zealand will be bring you the best rock, pop and hip hop gigs filmed from around the world. Coming soon to MTV World Stage is Enrique, Duffy, The Cure, Kaiser Chiefs and Kid Rock.
