Top Model Launch A Ratings Winner
The highly anticipated premiere of TV3’s New Zealand’s Next Top Model on Friday, March 13 had a strong launch beating everything in its 7.30pm timeslot in the network’s target audience.
The show launched with a 29% share in the important 18-49 demographic.
The first episode of the show followed the audition hopefuls as they were whittled from 33 girls down to the 13 that will now compete to be New Zealand’s first Next Top Model.
The episode had strong numbers in other demographics, leading in the 18-39 demographic with a 36% share and winning with females 18-49 with a 32% share.
Regionally the show performed particularly well in Auckland and the South Island with a 33% share (18-49) for both areas.
TV3’s Director of Programming, Kelly Martin, was thrilled with how the first episode rated and looks forward to the audience growing as the series continues.
“This is the first time TV3 has taken on a local project of this magnitude and I am extremely pleased with how well it has turned out,” she says. “This is the highest launch we have ever had for a cycle of Top Model and we are immensely proud of it.”
