Wednesday night’s big game will play live on our Te Reo Channel (Channel 59 on SKY and on Freeview Channel 24) and will also be streamed live on the website: www.maoritelevision.com.
The Tigers may have home advantage for two of the three matches but, after sitting out the quarterfinals with a bye, they won't have played for 10 days when they meet the NZ Breakers this Wednesday night.
Such an extended lay-off can cut both ways. The Tigers will be physically rejuvenated but could also be caught cold.
The Tigers have finished the regular season in second place to the Breakers third placing. But while the Tigers have had the stronger season, four clashes between these two teams have resulted in two wins each.
Further good news for the New Zealand teams is that they appear to have broken a late-season run of disappointing scores, winning their last 3 games. Most importantly, last week's quarter final victory over the Adelaide 36ers was a stunner with the Breakers' highest ever ANBL score, at 131 - 101.
Join Te Reo (Channel 59 on SKY and on Freeview Channel 24) live on Wednesday February 25 at 9.30 PM, (replayed on Maori Television on Thursday February 26 at 8.00 PM).
Playing the game live on Te Reo is an opportunity to profile our language, the Te Reo channel and Freeview.
Then stay tuned to Maori Television for the subsequent game on Friday February 27 at 8.00 PM (replayed Saturday February 28 at 2.00 PM). If required, the deciding game will screen live on Maori Television on Sunday March 1 at 9.00 PM.
