Amanda Palmer of the Dresden Dolls

Amanda Palmer of the Dresden Dolls
                           Thursday March 12th

We are proud to present a fan requested Wellington show for Amanda Palmer of the Dresden Dolls at Bodega.

"A one-woman machine, The Dresden Dolls’ Amanda Palmer is a rock musician, artist, writer, political activist and more. With a penchant for the complicated, Amanda Palmer’s debut solo outing Who Killed Amanda Palmer (out now through Roadrunner) snowballed from a small idea into a project that’s nothing short of brilliant.

Who Killed Amanda Palmer sees our fearless heroine weaving together the many threads of her personality, her interests, her extensive artistic family, her astute, witty world observations and the stark openness of her feelings into a dynamic record that pushes emotional limits while staying true to its genius creator. From Amanda Palmer, we would expect nothing less.

The critics have agreed resoundingly.

“Who Killed Amanda Palmer showcases her endless creativity exposing her as a woman whose artistic endeavours have no boundaries” Rip It Up

“Palmer’s gift for delivering an entire narrative in one understated couplet is as strong as ever“ -Time Out

I was born in the UK in 1949
I am best known as a bass player but I am a multi instrumentalist even playing recorder on my bands most famous song.
I was a session musician before joining my band, for acts such as The Rolling Stones, Cat Stevens, Shirley Bassey, Dusty Springfield and more.
My influence was clearly seen in the song writing style of the band I was in. My funk interest is obvious along with my "power crunch and shifting time signatures."
I was also well respected for my temperament "While all members of ___ _______ had a reputation for off-stage excess, ______ was seen as the quietest and lowest profile member of the group. His professionalism ensured that any excesses experienced on the road never hindered his performance. For his part, ______ has claimed that he had just as much fun on the road as his bandmates but was more discreet about it, stating "I did more drugs than I care to remember. I just did it quietly."
Who am I?
