Cricket betting profits to go to victims of Australian bushfires

The New Zealand TAB will donate all its profits from betting on today’s one-day cricket match between the Black Caps and Australia in Adelaide to the appeal for the victims of the Australian bushfires.

New Zealand Racing Board Chief Executive Graeme Hansen said the New Zealand TAB staff wanted to do whatever they could to help the victims of the bushfires.

“This is only a small gesture on our behalf but we’re hoping it will continue the momentum building in New Zealand to help the victims of this disaster,” Mr Hansen said.

“The Black Caps have said they will be contributing to the bushfire appeal at today’s match in Adelaide and we wanted to support them in that endeavour.”

The New Zealand TAB offers a range of betting options on cricket including picking the winning team (head-to-head), the method of first dismissal, the batsman to score the most runs (high bat), the team to score the most runs from the first 10 overs and the team to hit the most sixes.

The Black Caps cricket match against Australia at the Adelaide Oval is due to start at 4.15pm today (NZ time).

The New Zealand TAB will be offering live betting on the game.
