CheeseFest '09 - bigger and better than ever before!
The 2009 Cuisine NZ Champions of Cheese Awards goes public - for the third time - with CheeseFest '09 an exciting event held at the SKYCITY Convention Centre from 5-8pm on Wednesday 4th March 2009.
For just $35, CheeseFest attendees will be able to savour and sample as many cheeses as they can eat served with a complimentary glass of Yealands Estate wine.
A cheese lovers dream, CheeseFest '09 is an opportunity for the public to learn more about New Zealand cheeses, meet the people behind the cheese they eat, discover new products and revisit old favourites.
Individual stations will feature over 400 of the country's finest speciality cheeses including the country's top cheddars, best blues, creamiest bries and fetas as well as some exciting new additions including blue cheese made from buffalo milk.
Following the hugely successful 2007 and 2008 CheeseFest events, CheeseFest '09 will also be held in the much bigger New Zealand room at SKYCITY Convention Centre to accommodate the enthusiastic crowds the event attracted last year and the enormous quantities of cheeses entered into this year's awards competition.
Cuisine NZ Champions of Cheese Master Judge, Neil Willman, says "this unique event is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the diverse range of New Zealand cheeses. Not only do people get the chance to sample some of New Zealand's finest export cheeses but they also get to taste the best speciality cheeses from the smallest artisan producers. CheeseFest '09 is sure to be bigger and better than ever before and will be the ultimate taste experience for all attendees."
Neil Willman is Australasia's only full time cheese educator and trainer. He will be attending the event and joined by cheesemakers and cheese companies from around New Zealand to showcase their products, engage with the public and share their expertise. CheeseFest '09 is a chance for the public to purchase some of the best cheeses in the land, entered in this year's awards, at fantastic prices to take home and enjoy.
A cash bar is available to purchase wines to match with cheeses. Non-alcoholic beverages are also available. Get your ticket today!
