Bedwyr Williams Le 'Welsh' Man's 24hourThursday 12 February 2009, 00.00-24.00
Around Wellington, beginning and ending at the carpark next to Enjoy, Swan Lane, off Cuba St
Commissioned by Enjoy Public Art Gallery
Feeling that every one of the 24 hours should count, Welsh artist Bedwyr Williams’ contribution to the One Day Sculpture series brings us the intrepid union of motor-sports and art. Williams’ work will take the form of an art gumball rally around Wellington – a rally where he is the only contestant. Requiring exceptional endurance, this event will see him attempting to complete 24 paintings in 24 hours travelling from location to location in a used station wagon.
You have to be there. This one cannot be missed.

Lara Almarcegui Relocated Houses, Brittons Yard, 2009
Friday 13 February 2009, 6.30-8.30pm
Brittons Yard, Haywards Hill Road, Wellington and insert in Dominion Post newspaper, Wellington
Commissioned by Litmus Research Initiative
On the outskirts of Wellington, there is a strange street of houses. The domestic buildings sit side by side unoccupied and unfurnished, some in a state of disrepair, others relatively pristine. These houses were never intended to stand together. On display temporarily by Brittons Housemovers, each building has undergone removal from another location and been relocated to this curious and compelling way-station as it awaits sale.
Rotterdam-based artist Lara Almarcegui has worked intensively to trace the roots of each house on the street. Her resulting One Day Sculpture project will include a catalogue of the houses’ histories published in Wellington’s daily newspaper, and an exclusive artist-led tour of the street at Brittons yard.
