The Black Caps one day international may have been rained off but two Lotto players in Kawakawa and Auckland have been
bowled over by winning $500,000 in tonight’s Lotto First Division, says NZ Lotteries’ Chief Executive, Todd McLeay.
“These Lotto winners in Kawakawa and Auckland are bound to feel top of the batting order after winning this great First
Division prize,” says Mr McLeay.
The winning tickets were sold at Kawakawa Mitre 10 in Kawakawa and Ashby Superette in Glendowie, Auckland.
Powerball First Division was not struck tonight, so the jackpot for next weekend will be worth an estimated $5 million.
Strike Four has also jackpotted to $800,000 next week.
Tonight’s big winner was Hamish Binnie from Christchurch who won $150,000 on Lotto’s Winning Wheel. Hamish spun the
wheel on behalf of his two-man syndicate with his friend Aaron, who currently lives in the UK. They have been playing
the same Lotto numbers for 11 years and will share the prize.
All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto’s Winning Wheel, regardless of the
type of ticket they buy. Players can check their ticket at any lottery outlet.
Tonight’s Winning Wheel ticket was sold at Praters Supermarket in Taupo. The serial number is 228-20647944-20XX.
“Anyone who bought a ticket at these retailers should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it as soon as
possible at any NZ Lotteries’ outlet," Todd McLeay says.
