Broadcast live from Beijing on the eve of Chinese New Year, the CCTV4 show will be a diverse performance featuring song, drama and dance.

This evening gala has been run for the past 27 years and is arguably the premier Mainland Chinese television event of the year. Also featuring an extravagant fireworks display and awe-inspiring acrobatics, the show is viewed annually by approximately 700 million people.

To see the Year of the Ox introduced in style, make sure you are watching Triangle or Stratos on January 26 from 12am till 7am.

For a preview of what this popular Chinese New Year celebration entails, Stratos and Triangle will be screening last year’s evening gala on January 19 and January 26 at 8.30pm.

Triangle Auckland is on UHF Channels 41, 42 and 52 and in the Wellington area UHF Channels 40 and 41. Triangle Television is now also available to Christchurch viewers via TelstraClear cable (Channel 50).

These live events can also be seen on Triangle’s sister channel, Stratos Television, which broadcasts nationwide via Sky Digital (Channel 89) and Freeview (Channel 21).
