NNZ Accelerant Group Announced
Netball New Zealand today announced the four players to be included in the new High Performance Accelerant Group. The Accelerant Group has replaced the NZ A squad.
The Accelerant Group will provide the next tier of players behind the current Silver Ferns Squad, additional opportunities aimed at fast tracking their development to Silver Fern level within three years and will include up to eight players at any one time.
Players selected in the Accelerant Group are considered by the National Selectors as having the potential to be included in the Silver Ferns programme by 2011. Netball New Zealand High Performance Manager Tracey Fear said this was an exciting new initiative for the NNZ High Performance program. “This is an elite group and players selected in the Accelerant Group have been identified by Selectors as potential future Silver Ferns and will be resourced accordingly.
Silver Ferns coach Ruth Aitken will be overseeing the Accelerant Group. Netball New Zealand Accelerant Group (in alphabetical order) Phillipa Finch – Tactix Camilla Lees – Otago Cushla Litchwark – Pulse Jess Tuki – Magic
